What’s the Biochar Pyrolysis Process?
To get biochar with better quality. The moisture content of raw materials should be controlled below 15%. Then it comes to the first step – drying.
Beston biochar furnace is duoble-layer design. When the temprature reaches about 150°C, excess water will be evaporated. At this stage, the chemical composition of the material does not change.
When the temorature reaches about 150°C-300°C, the pyrolysis reaction of the material is obvious, and the chemical composition begins to change. Unstable costs such as hemicellulose are decomposed into CO2, CO and a small amount of acetic acid.
When the tenprature reaches about 300°C-600°C, Materials undergo various complex physical and chemical reactions. This is the main stage of charcoal production. The liquids produced in this stage are acetic acid, tar and ethanol, and the gases produced are CO2, CO, CH4, H2, etc.
The temperature continues to increase at this stage, which is to discharge the volatile substances remaining in the charcoal and increase the fixed carbon content in the charcoal.
